I'm sitting on a bench in Marina Del Rey looking out at the boats and across to the waterside apartments. I've spent the last two weeks working in LA and staying at the Ritz-Carlton, but tomorrow the company account closes; so it's Super 8 Motels and hostels from here on in.
I'm spending the next two weeks travelling around California. Since I've already been to San Diego -- and what a lovely city it is -- I'm going to head mostly North. I want to take in San Francisco, Yosemite and possibly Sequoia, Vegas (okay, it's not in California but my flatmate would kill me if I didn't go) and the Grand Canyon, and whatever else I can squeeze in but not necessarily in that order. I don't want to plan more than a day or so ahead.
It should be an interesting trip. But first I'm going to head back to my luxury hotel and enjoy a luxury dinner and some luxury sleep.
