This video of Bush taking the mickey out of himself at a White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner is unmissable.
I intend to spread our agenda globally, around the world, and even internationally.

From the you-couldn’t-make-it-up dept: The BBC accidentally interviewed a chap live on air, who thought he was just in for a job interview.

The main thrust of my recent estate agent article was that no matter how bad estate agents are, more regulation is not the answer.
Perry de Havilland has discovered a survey in which the public rated politicians as the only people less trusted than estate agents. Therefore, those who want more regulation of estate agents want,
to trust the most un-trusted group in Britain to regulate the second most un-trusted group in Britain.

Ages ago I wrote a rant about my frustration standing in the aisles of a supermarket trying to choose the right shampoo. The article was picked up by The Beauty Brains, a blog that looks at the science behind cosmetics. My original article was a full on rant, so I thought I’d respond with what I really think, and they republished my comment and responded back.
It’s an interesting blog because it gets past the marketing of all the lotions and potions. Recently they added a great article about the realities of animal testing, they have a series of articles about how shampoos work, and they recently ran an article debunking a panic about parabens preservatives.

A post on Samizdata about speculators linked to an Angry Economist article about Elliot Spitzer. Spitzer wants to regulate the prices gas stations charge at the pumps. Apart it being none of his business what businesses charge for their products, this will also prevent them from being able to plan for future costs.
So, Elliot Spitzer is being purely evil when he pursues a case like this. Why? Because he is doing so not because winning the case will make NY a better place to live. He is bringing this lawsuit to pander to the base instincts of the voting public. He wants to be seen as “Having Done Something About High Gas Prices.”
It’s yet another example of a politician doing what politicians do: appear to be Doing Something About It.
The Angry Econimist looks to be very good; read the whole blog.
